Misc. Estates: Wojtek Pastuch Sandblasted Pear with Horn (1025) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

A muscular and poised Pear, this piece from Wojtek Pastuch is one of the more reserved organic shapes I've encountered from the talented Polish artisan. The bowl flares from its heel, gradually expanding upward, where it meets a high-set waistline that bulges outward. The neat, slightly tucked transition is set low, nicely accentuating the bowl's height and making its presence even more powerful in profile. Even the sandblasted finish is more conservative on this piece, departing from the deep, craggy sandblasts Wojtek often employs on his pipes. That said, there's still an abundance of undulating grain to appreciate around the bowl, and the slightly shallower blast has wonderfully preserved the bowl's shaping. The shank is likewise sandblasted and dressed in an extra dark stain, which is nicely contrasted by the pale, creamy hues of the horn accent that adorns the stem base. The vulcanite stem reintroduces the dark theme, tapering gradually as it meets the comfortably shaped lip button.
