Misc. Estates: Stephen Downie Smooth Bent Apple (S315) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-008-9060
A fetching take on the bent Apple shape, this piece from Stephen Downie sees a plump, squat bowl set to an upturned shank and a demurely curved mouthpiece. The bowl exhibits a subtle taper from its broad base to its tauter rim, evoking the build of a Brandy shape, but with a more reserved overall height. The thick, stout shank naturally mirrors the bowl's own muscular frame while naturally leading the eye to the stem's gestural pose. A smoky smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights fine wisps of flame grain across the flanks of the bowl, while a white accent adorns the junction and ties the entire composition together with a touch of vibrancy.
