This bent Dublin Zhang Guohui represents a variation of the classic shape increasingly popular among Chinese artisans. The bowl features a tapered rim delineated by a firm ridgeline atop deeply tapered walls that culminate in a narrow, flat heel that allows the pipe to sit upright. Out back, a high-kicking round shank curls to a near-vertical position, fitted with a comfortably bent vulcanite stem, making it perfect for clenching. Dressed in a unique lacquer finish, the stummel displays a distinctive pattern of gold-hued bursts all around its surface.
