Misc. Estates: HS Studio Carved Freehand with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-9496

A lively Freehand piece, this pipe comes to us by way of Chinese workshop HS Studio and showcases an extremely expressive look and finish. The stummel itself comprises a thick, flaring shank and a tall, flaring bowl, all carved in a distinctive pattern of fluting channels and curving ridgelines that immediately evokes the aesthetic of Anne Julie. A hearty section of two bamboo knuckles is paired to the shank out back, fitted, then, to a demurely curved saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. A dark stain throughout the stummel is contrasted by unstained briar at the shank end, the pale bamboo, and a ruby-toned stain that covers the rim and follows this pipe's ridges, making for a finish that's impossible to ignore.
