Misc. Estates: Michail Kyriazanos Sandblasted Harley with Silver Tobacco Pipe

Greek artisan Michail Kyriazanos takes inspiration from the Anglo-French marques of years past, holding a deeply-ingrained respect for a shaping tradition he sees as being committed to excellent functionality and aesthetic perfection without excess. His commitment to this style of shaping without superfluousness is even reflected in his logo, a re-imagined homage to Cycladic art figurines which are the oldest known intentionally minimalist art, and in his pipe making work as well. The Harley is a signature shape from Kyriazanos, and its overall profile is a fusion of the Rhodesian and Prince, with a sleek and elegant style all its own. A trim, gently tapering shank ebbs out from a wide transition and swiftly meets a broad band of silver at the junction to a similarly tapering stem of jet-black acrylic. The shank and stem here do well to balance the visual weight of the bowl, and the pairing here affords the pipe an elegant character. Said bowl stands atop a broad heel and expands toward a mid-set waistline that is marked by a pair of crisp beadlines that additionally denote a rounded taper up to the rim. There's plenty of curvature here for the hand to appreciate, and the pipe is light enough to offer a comfortable clench.
