Misc. Estates: Andrey Grigoriev Smooth Bent Brandy with Horn (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-9988

Russian artisan Andrey Grigoriev began making pipes in 2004 as a hobby, while working as a professional engineer. In 2006, he met Viktor Yashtylov, an experienced Russian pipe maker who took on Grigoriev as his apprentice. Now making his own pipes in his St. Petersburg workshop, Grigoriev predomiantly crafts traditional shapes with a Danish inspired flair, but he is no stranger to wild Freehands as well.

This bent Brandy by Andrey Grigoriev is a muscular Nosewarmer that proudly showcases Danish influence. Despite the stummel's short stature, the voluptuous bowl feels robust in one's hand, and the pronounced cheeking at the transition emphasizes the wall's supple contours in profile. Out back, a thick shank sweeps upward to a broad horn accent, accentuating the organic qualities of this piece. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a unique smooth finish, which pairs a yellow background to splotches of auburn and black hues, creating a camoflauge-esque pattern that obscures the wispy grain below.
