Chinese artisan Qipeng Wei founded the workshop W pipes in 2015, providing him with the platform to showcase his stunning designs. Most of Wei's pipes are Freehands that possess gestural profiles and are designed to highlight stunning birdseye. This Tomato by Qipeng Wei features a stout, bulging bowl that presents a similar forward-urging momentum as the bent Egg shape. The shank features crisp lines along the underside that gently cradle the bowl, while the top of the shank is rounded for contrast. The shaping serves to highlight the stunning birdseye pattern that swirls along the flanks, as the tightly-packed swaths are further detailed by the vivid contrast stain of auburn and black hues.
