A wonderfully classic rendering of the timeless Lovat shape, this piece from an unknown carver is possessed of the extended shank and trim saddle stem iconic to the profile. A wide transition leaves plenty of room to drape a digit and lends the bowl a touch of forward-canting dynamism before giving way to the shank. Said shank extends to meet a sleek saddle stem of black vulcanite, its tones looking quite timeless against the stummel's warm, rich stain.
