Misc. Estates: Hilson Twi-light Smooth Bent Apple (228) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-008-10515
Hilson's history begins in 1846 in Bree, Belgium, when Jean-Claude Hillen (or John-Paul depending on the source) founded a trading company that focused on tobacco and tobacco-related goods. Hilson carved pipes for well over 100 years, and became exceedingly popular in Europe during the 1960s and 70s. However, Hilson was bought out in 1980 and moved production to the Netherlands where they continued to craft their iconic pipes. This "228" bent Apple is a stocky rendition of the classic form, offering a plump, full-bodied bowl and a thick, sturdy shank. Said shank emerges from a low-set transition and joins a demurely curved tapered stem that arcs toward a fine button. The elegant curvature of the shank and stem lends a touch of gesture to the shape's profile and promotes a comfortable smoking posture. A warm smooth finish completes the ensemble and highlights healthy grain throughout the stummel.
