A charmingly bowl-forward rendering of the timeless Lovat shape, this piece from an unknown carver is possessed of the extended shank and trim saddle stem iconic to the profile. The bowl is thick and surrounds a broad chamber, its walls standing on a muscular heel and taking on a slight, arcing taper to the rim before being paired to a round shank out back via a wide transition. Said shank extends to meet a sleek saddle stem of black vulcanite, its tones looking quite timeless against the stummel's deep, rich stain.
