Misc. Estates: DS Djuragin Spot Carved Eskimo Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-008-10611
Fashioned in Serbia, DS Djuragin pipes are the work of Darko and Sanela, a husband and wife pipe-making team that handcrafts each piece, with Darko handling the shaping and Sanela doing the detailing and finishing work. Their attention to quality contributes to their low annual production rate, making this Eskimo something of a rarity, being the first estate we've received from the family outfit. Originally pioneered by the great Tom Eltang, the Eskimo shape is defined by its broad, Rhodesian-like bowl and trim, oval shank. Here, Darko and Sanela have maintained those core elements while adding a touch of brawniness to the pipe's usually trim aft. Such musculature works to visually balance the bowl and creates ample space to showcase a healthy swathe of plateau across one flank of the stummel. A rich auburn finish completes the ensemble and highlights handsome birdseye and cross grain throughout.
