Misc. Estates: Alpha Signature Smooth Freehand Tobacco Pipe

Alpha pipes were crafted in the Shalom Pipe Factory in Israel and made exclusively for U.S. distribution. This Freehand exemplifies the type of pipes the factory produced — bold, eye-catching, dynamic shapes. The bowl here cants forward from atop a flat heel, one which expands into a low ridgeline almost in line with the center of the shank, before its walls cinch at the waist and flare out to the rim expressively. This rim is crowned in a wreath of craggy plateau, and it overlooks a wide transition out back that leads into a subtly lifting shank. A sleekly tapering stem of amber-toned acrylic pairs to this stem, and the duo comprise a subdued curve that work in concert with the bowl's cant to lend this piece some dynamism. Dressed in a warm, rich, auburn-hued stain, the stummel reveals flickering flame grain surrounding the bowl.
