Maro pipes are generally accepted to be a sub-brand of Hollco International, the company that owned Wally Frank from 1969 to their dissolution in the late 80s or early 90s. This particular piece is a Bing's favorite Billiard, with a lengthy shank and stem combination that make a consistent taper from out of the transition, lending this pipe a gracile look. Lengthy and lean, this pipe is also rather light, making it delightfully handy, and the shank and stem nicely balance the bowl as it stands on a rounded heel at the fore. The walls of the bowl make a subtle taper from the low-set waist to the inward-sloping rim, and they offer ample space to showcase the stummel's warm, rich stain.
