Misc. Estates: AG Pipes Smooth Bent Brandy with Horn (125) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-008-10713
AG Pipes are made in Indonesia by the younger brother of Wandi Riyadi, and this bent Brandy showcases his skill quite well, with a Danish sensibility about its design. The transition is wide, with plenty of room to drape a digit if needed, and it gives way to a short, tapering shank that lifts to meet a horn accent that extends the shank's reach significantly. This accent flares out as it continues the curling trajectory of the shank, terminating in a firm ridge that outlines a domed face inlaid with a band of brass. This horn extension acts as the junction to a sleek saddle stem of black vulcanite, one with a sophisticated expansion ring arrangement at the base that stylistically mirrors the horn's dome and balances some of the bowl's visual weight. A sweeping heel supports the bowl as it grows into a low-set waist and takes on a sleek, subtly curved taper to the rim. The bowl is actually compressed at the fore and aft, creating an ovoid look from the smoker's perspective while offering a unique feel in hand. Dressed in a warm, mahogany-toned smooth finish, the stummel showcases birdseye across the left flank and the rim, while the horn shank extension offers ample contrast.
