Misc. Estates: Chris Asteriou Smooth Acorn with Ivorite (1326) (2024) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-008-10819
Talented Greek artisan Chirs Asteriou started crafting pipes back in 2007, using his background in industrial design and architecture to his advantage. His portfolio began with classic Anglo-French designs. However, in recent years, he has begun to take influence from the Danish and Japanese schools of design. This Acorn by Chris Asteriou possesses a graceful, arcing profile, which descends from a plump, teardrop-like bowl and then ascends upwards into a lithe shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl sits canted and contours well to the hand, formed by walls that reach from a pointed heel to a softly domed rim. Marked by a band of Ivorite, the stummel meets a jet-black ferrule along the end of the shank at a seamless, cinched transition. Completing the silhouette is an elongated, tapering stem of jet-black vulcanite. Dressing the stummel is a mahogany stain that highlights bold swirls of birdseye along the face of the bowl.
