Misc. Estates: Unknown Smooth Poker (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

A remarkably short pipe of less than four inches long, this piece yet boasts a shockingly large bowl more than two and a half inches in height. This bowl stands on a flat heel and grows cylindrical walls that take on a dynamic forward cant, reaching up to a deeply chamfered rim which overlooks a capacious chamber. The transition here is mid-set and gives way to a thick, short shank that reaches out to meet a slim saddle stem of ruby-toned acrylic, its slim bit keeping the visual weight firmly rooted at the bowl. Dressing this pipe is a warm, rich, smooth finish that reveals dense cross grain across the flanks of the bowl, while the fore wall is awash with birdseye.
