Misc. Estates: DS Djuragin Smooth Devil's Horn (with Stand and Tamper) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-008-11396
Based in Serbia, the DS Djuragin workshop is run by husband-and-wife pipe-making duo Darko and Sanela. The couple handcrafts each piece, with Darko handling the shaping and Sanela doing the detailing and finishing work. Their meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality contribute to their low annual production rate, making this Devil's Horn something of a rarity, being only the third piece we've ever received from the workshop. This piece is an angular take on the classic Horn shape, retaining a smooth, seamless transition from bowl to shank and a flaring rim. Unlike more classic renditions, however, this Horn is carved with rigid panels, lending it a more rigid, geometric appearance. Thanks to this paneled shaping, the rim takes on a hexagonal form from the aerial perspective, and it boasts a striking texture, being crowned with plateau. Tendrils of flame grain can be found dancing along the pipe's shank and along the bowl. These mesmerizing grain patterns are dressed in a rich, chestnut stain, which pairs perfectly with the acrylic stem's amber hue. Additionally, this piece features a tamper and pipe stand that further continues the collection's organic, plateau-rich aesthetic.
