Turkish Estates: Unknown Meerschaum Pegasus (with Case)
Product Number: 004-653-4326
In the animated film Hercules, Pegasus is fashioned by Zeus from a cloud for his son, Hercules, as a first birthday present. In Greek mythology, however, the winged-horse's origins are more vague, some accounts related to the gorgon Medusa and others associated with Poseidon, god of the sea. Furthermore, Bellerephon (slayer of the Chimera) was Pegasus' most famed rider, not Hercules. All that aside, however, the soaring steed is showcased here in this meerschaum pipe, its only rider being a bowl ready to house your favorite tobacco.-Truett Smith
