Turkish Estates: Sevket Meerschaum Pegasus (with Case) (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-653-4897
Known in Greek mythology as the son of Poseidon, Pegasus was given immortality by Zeus, and his constellation is there in the sky for all to see. More close to home, this larger meerschaum rendering of the gentle, winged horse from Sevket is quite sculptural and intricately carved. The symbol of poetry appears to be bowing, his slender, aquiline head artfully poised, forelegs bent forward. All of the detail on this piece is amazing and the stummel has been stained a light golden color to emulate patination, which will continue as this flavor-neutral meerschaum is enjoyed and with time. It's all topped by a downturned, stylish stem of jet-black, the addition of expansion rings at the base an additional flourishing nuance. Unsmoked.-Angela Robertson
