While IMP is mostly known for producing classic shapes, the Turkish workshop occasionally fashions highly sculptural Freehands, as evidenced by this robust piece. A work of smokeable art, this piece features a tall, angular bowl that rises at the fore of a flaring shank and a steeply curved mouthpiece. A pair of feet protrude from the base of the bowl, one orientated straight down and the other curling to the side. With time and use, the meerschaum stummel will accrue the warm tans, browns, and golds of patina, bringing the sterling silver band around the stem base into starker relief.
