Turkish Estates: CAO Meerschaum Pharaoh (I. Bekler) (with Case) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-653-5554
CAO was originally founded in 1964 by Cano Aret Ozgener, an Armenian-Turkish immigrant to the United States, who earned his master's degree in Science from Columbia University. While working for the DuPont company in North Carolina, Ozgener stumbled upon a selection of flawed meerschaum pipes, leveraging his degree to craft novel stems from new materials that vastly improved the pipes' smoking quality. Finding success in this venture, Ozgener continued his company while working for DuPont, beginning to focus on pipe carving full-time in 1977, later expanding the brand's scope to include pipes made by renowned artisan Ismat Bekler. Though they are better known in modern times for their success in the cigar industry after establishing CAO Cigars in 1994, their meerschaum pipes are still revered to this day for their high quality. Made by Bekler for CAO, this piece is carved in the likeness of a regal Pharaoh, complete with royal regalia.
