First used in the 18th and 19th centuries, meerschaum is recognized for its smoking qualities, patination, and ability to be intricately carved. Based in Turkey, AKB commissions one of a kind pipes that are hand carved by the world’s most established and respected artisans, such as Tekin, Mcinar, Yusuf, and I. Baglan. Using only high-quality, solid-block meerschaum and often colorful acrylic stems, AKB’s carvers create extremely intricate pipes, from classically inclined lattice patterns to complicated figurals.
