American Estates: American Smoking Pipe Company Smooth Rhodesian (Curt Rollar) (Reg. No) (1987)

Product Number: 004-009-5733

Curt Rollar, the maker of this fine piece, is a friend of legendary pipe maker Mark Tinsky, who's fascination with pipes started early in high school when he took a job working with a local pipe maker. After some extensive bicycling, Rollar and Tinsky decided to make pipes together and - through various struggles - were able to have a breakthrough into the market in 1980, and thus the American Smoking Pipe Company was born.

Here, Mr. Rollar offers up a very muscular bent Rhodesian, given an ample amount of briar in the chubby shank and chamber walls of the bowl. A nice, broad, deep chamber lies within, and glorious flame grain throughout.
