American Estates: Bruce Weaver Sandblasted Bent Egg

Product Number: 004-009-5697

Bruce Weaver knows how to finish off a great design, using one defining accent that sets the rest of the pipe ablaze with beauty. For this bent Egg, it has to be the sandblast: a gentle wash of which dissolved the surface grain to a consistency so soft, you'd mistake it for a fine-threaded fiber. Yet, how is it that the ring-grain retains such great definition? Chasing the complex dimensions of the smooth form, the blast seems to trickle down the delicately slender bowl, like water from an overflowing urn, which then follows the pinched wasp transition, bursting forth in a jet-stream through the wide, muscular shank, only to be sealed off by a thin stopper of murky green acrylic and a plug-like stem base.
