American Estates: Jerry Crawford Smooth Bent Rhodesian with Maple (263)
Product Number: 004-009-5778
Jerry is a brand spanking new addition to our archives, a carver who began collecting pipes back in 1976 while in college, his obsession growing over the years, as did his collection, many of them high grade pieces bought from eBay. In time, he got confident enough to start making repairs, which led to learning the mechanics of the craft and how to engineer, guided by pipe maker and the owner of "Pipe Makers Emporium", Paul Hildebrande, who lived and worked in Phoenix, Arizona. Early on, Jerry saw pipe making as a way to relieve stress from work and a great hobby, and before you know it, he had won a "Best Billiard" contest, followed by a flurry of activity and patronage that has kept him busy ever since.
All of the pipes Jerry crafted are handmade using the best Algerian and/or Italian briar. The stems for each pipe are hand cut from top quality German ebonite rod stock with the exception of an occasional Bakelite or Lucite material. Each pipe is crafted individually using the highest of tolerances to promote superior smoking characteristics.
