American Estates: Sven Lar (G.Court) Smooth Bent Freehand (AA)

Product Number: 004-009-5801

Sven Lar doesn't exist, but Michael Kabik does. Actually, Sven-Lar is one of many, many lines created by the pipemaker after being approached by Mel Baker (owner of a chain in Virginia Beach called Tobak Ltd.), who was interested in producing a freehand pipe line, recreating the CHP-X studio with a new name for the product. The name and look of Sven-Lar was created because the two wanted to make a line of pipes in the Danish tradition and also, sadly, they knew the difficulty American pipe makers had breaking the foreign market mystique barrier. As far as the style of his designs go, they all have a distinctive profile, influenced by Anne Julie, Preben Holm, and even Savinelli.
