American Estates: Elliott Nachwalter/Jorg Jemelka (The Briar Workshop) Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-7657
This flowing, elegant bent Dublin is a familiar form for Elliott Nachwalter; well, as familiar as it can be, considering he has a tumultuous relationship with the Muse. Put simply, when the impulse strikes, Elliot makes pipes, and when it doesn't, he won't. As for his collaborator in this briar's design, Jorg Jemelka: he co-founded the Briar Workshop with Nachwalter in 1976 before leaving in 1980 to further his education and pursue a career in manufacturing. This leads me to believe this hearty fellow was a product of those first four years at the Briar Workshop, and is likely a rare find for Nachwalter collectors. The condition is good, with only a little rim darkening and a touch of scraping to the chamber.
