American Estates: Alfred Baier Smooth Bent Dublin with Plateau (1987) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-7846

Alfred Baier is perhaps most well-known for his elaborate figural pipes, but he has also made some beautiful classic and freehand variations as well. This bent Dublin is obviously of the latter camp, featuring an underlying classical form that's been shaped and sculpted into a gorgeous freehand, with a craggy plateau crown and a carved out foot along the heel. To the fore of the bowl, you'll also notice something rather intriguing: an elaborate treehouse motif etched into what appears to be bone.
