American Estates: Michael Butera Royal Classic Bent Dublin (B0008) (BB)
Product Number: 004-009-10742
Michael Butera is a household name within the school of American pipemaking, and his pipes sought after zealously. Here we see a beautiful bent Dublin. Much of Butera's work displays an Italian influence, but this piece comes across as quite Danish, with the underside of the shank flowing seamlessly into the heel and bowl's fore, giving the bowl a forward canted orientation. It feels sublime in hand, and the comfortable bend ensures it to also a suitable clencher. With gorgeous streaks of flame grain across the stummel and birdseye adorning the rim, this is a stunning piece. It's also fitted with a briar accent that also functions as a military mount. Condition wise, there's just some minor rim darkening and the chamber was slightly over reamed.-Truett Smith
