Maigurs Knets attracted a lot of attention early on in his career by producing some of the most complex and fanciful pipe designs on the market. One of his more reserved freehand forms, the "Turtle" is considered to be a signature shape of the Latvian-American carver. I've seen a number of his Turtle shapes, but this long-shanked version is particularly rare and, although it's been smoked, it's in very good condition.
