American Estates: Ernie Markle Sandblasted Pencil Shank Apple

Product Number: 004-009-11833

When Ernie Markle makes a straight pipe, he tends to imbue it with a pronounced sense of curve, at least based on those we've seen from him. This pencil shank Apple is no exception, being trim and compact — French-like of proportions and overall size — with a slender stretch of briar leading to a neat little bulb of a bowl. He's finished it in a warm, almost tangerine-colored sandblast, and employed a jet-black saddle stem to round it off out back. Wearing a stellar cross-cut grain pattern, it's a piece I can readily imagine growing quite fond of.
