American Estates: Scottie Piersel Sandblasted Pencil Shank Belge

Product Number: 004-009-12048

You know it's a Scottie without having to get near it. Scottie Piersel designed her signature Scottie series after the clay tavern pipes of yore, and the resemblance here is certainly accurate. With a canted bowl, very low-profile sandblast, and that irresistibly thin shank that looks fragile but is reinforced with stainless steel tubing and tough as they come, it's a tank compared to clays. The stem color is a muted teal hovering near the blue spectrum, and the piece is even lighter than it looks. There's some charring at the airway to consider, and some rim darkening.
