American Estates: J. Alan Smooth Billiard with Horn (1232) (2016)

Product Number: 004-009-15325

Birdseye lovers, rejoice; Jeff Gracik has come to your rescue with this delightfully petite Billiard with cross-grain orientation. The left side has the starring role for birdseye, though the right side is certainly respectable. The rim is rounded in Danish style, and the saddle bit engages the shank at a genuine horn fitment. At just over 4-and-a half-inches and as without weight as a politician's promise, the bowl is full-sized for plenty of smoking time. When such remarkable craftsmanship is packed into such a small package, it's hard not to notice. The piece sits, though it rocks a bit, and the upright bowl and pronounced forward heel blends American carving cues with those of the artisan Danes. This piece has been smoked, but has no condition issues and is as close to new as one could hope. If you've been curious about J. Alan pipes, here's an opportunity to see what the buzz is about.
