American Estates: Barclay-Rex Smooth Owl

Product Number: 004-009-12323

Founded in 1910, Barclay-Rex is a Manhattan-based tobacconist, established by Vincent Nastri, an Italian pipemaker. The company name comes from a portmanteau of the store's original location, Barclay St. and Nastri's dog, a Great Dane named Rex. Presented here is a uniquely carved bent Billiard, featuring an owl's face carved into the fore. Such a detailed pipe is most often seen rendered from meerschaum, but this piece here is briar, making it all the more unique.
