American Estates: Jeremiah Sandahl Sandblasted Lovat (11) (14)
Product Number: 004-009-12546
Jeremiah Sandahl fashions handmade pipes on a beautiful property near of Zimmerman, Minnesota, drawing inspiration from the wildlife he's able to observe right outside his workshop. This Lovat was fashioned in 2011, the carver's first year of making pipes, and based on the stamping, it was his 14th piece. During this time, Sandahl received advice and instruction from Walt Cannoy, who encouraged and critiqued Jeremiah's renditions of classic designs. This Lovat is one such classic — long of shank and abbreviated of saddle stem, it poises a slightly canted Billiard bowl up front. Lightweight and slender overall, it's dressed in an exceptionally craggy sandblast, reminiscent of the old style of finishes seen on vintage English pipes.-Truett Smith
