American Estates: David Huber Smooth Bent Egg (Reddit Pipe of the Year) (1) (2015)
Product Number: 004-009-12749
David Huber's bent Egg renditions vary greatly in terms of their proportions and length, yet always manage to be graceful and gestural in their execution. This offering is an excellent example and is a remarkably trim, compact take on the shape from the North Carolina-based carver. The bowl is tall and narrow, curling up from out of the delicate shank, and houses an impressively deep chamber within. And with its natural curves, soft lines, and cheeking around the transition, this design could easily pass for a Danish-made pipe. This particular piece was Reddit's (/r/pipetobacco) Pipe of the Year for 2015, making it an ideal choice for fans of organic, elegant shapes or frequent forum goers.- Jeffery Sitts
