American Estates: Steve Weiner Sandblasted Bent Dublin (04000) (2000)
Product Number: 004-009-12991
Steve Weiner was a fan of Italian shaping, and that's evident in this Dublin with Castello-esque bowl, also hewing toward Savinelli's aesthetic with the low and relatively diminutive shank. The transition is softly contoured, providing a Horn-like stature, and the grain is remarkable on the sandblasted surface. With a smooth, softly inflated rim and a bend made for good balance, this piece is a rarity from a fine American pipe maker who passed away far too young.- Chuck Stanion
