American Estates: Joe Hinkle Sandblasted Billiard (GKCPC) (2015) (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-009-13001
Based out of Indianapolis, Joe Hinkle began crafting pipes in 2011, initially starting out with a pre-drilled kit he purchased from Tim West and primarily learned on his own through trial and error. Hinkle then met American artisan Nate King at the Columbus NASPC pipe show and after finding out that they lived relatively close to one another, Nate invited Joe over to his workshop. Hinkle received some helpful tips from Nate and was able to use his sandblasting equipment to finish some pipes.
Presented here is the Greater Kansas City Pipe Club Pipe of the Year for 2015 crafted by Hinkle. It's a thoroughly traditional Billiard, the tall bowl exhibiting just a touch of forward cant and finished in a crisp, walnut-tinged sandblast. It's then brilliantly complemented by the warm red and black tones of the hand-cut cumberland saddle stem and topped by a smooth polished rim. It's offered here in unsmoked condition.- Jeffery Sitts
