American Estates: Mark Price Smooth Bent Dublin (74) (with Extra Stem) (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-009-13013

Even as a small child Mark Price was drawn to creating things and since wood was often the most readily available medium, he became quite skilled in woodworking. Eventually he found work at a cabinet shop, designing and building cabinets, enjoying the gratifying feel of turning raw materials into something artistic and functional. Once Price began smoking a pipe, he developed a new appreciation for design and soon wanted to craft pipes for a career. His hard work and dedication have manifested themselves beautifully in this bent Dublin. A firm, crisp ridgeline emerges from the right side of the teardrop shank and travels along the shank's right flank before wrapping around the bowl's heel. The rim's ridgeline is even crisper, perfectly framing the whorls of birdseye that grace its surface and is kissed with plateau along the right side. The saddle stem, then, fits directly into the mortise via a push-style tenon, the mortise stabilized by a surrounding ring of brass. Not only is this piece still unsmoked, it comes with two stems — one of jet-black vulcanite as well as a creamy white acrylic saddle stem.
