With over 30 years in the woodworking trade, it was a natural transition into pipe making for Jim Deschaine, collaborating with his father for Jim Deschaine Smoking Pipes (JDSP). Based in the Sierra foothills of California, Jim has studied under and worked with Mark Tinsky and Chris Morgan to hone his craft. Offered here is a hearty, plump-bowled straight Brandy interpretation, the chubby bowl subtly tapering from its broad, low-set waistline up toward the rim. The sandblasted finish has coaxed out a remarkably tight array of ring grain around the bowl while the beveled rim has been left smooth for a touch of contrast.
