American Estates: Elliott Nachwalter (Pipeworks) Smooth Bent Dublin (1080)
Product Number: 004-009-18042
Elliot Nachwalter is known as something of a Vermont hermit who only makes pipes when he is good and ready; when the muse strikes him he makes pipes, but when it doesn't, he may not make any for years at a stretch. That wasn't always the case, though. These Pipeworks briars were from what you might call his "New York period" when having a shop right in New York City kept him very busy into the night shaping briar for visitors and regular customers. This bent Dublin presents a sinuous disposition, its shank-and-stem combination flowing from the bowl in elegant curvature.- Chuck Stanion
