American Estates: Steve Liskey Partially Sandblasted Bent Apple
Product Number: 004-009-14811
A rather petite bent Apple from Steve Liskey, this piece isn't only compact and lightweight but also features vertically pinched flanks, like that of an Opera, to make pocketing even more of a breeze. In profile, the design is quite standard — affably plump of bowl toward the fore and aft, the underside's curve, consistently arcing from shank end to the slightly concave rim. From above, though, you'll notice the shank curling toward the left, adding a subtle dose of asymmetry to the otherwise fairly classic rendition. To top it all off, Steve's execution of the sandblasted finish here is simply mesmerizing as ring grain cascades concentrically down the bowl, all dressed in a ruby stain.-Truett Smith
