Marked by stunning line work and a distinctly organic nature, this Lilly shape from Alex Florov is a gorgeous Freehand that bespeaks exquisite engineering and creative artistry. The silhouette presents a shank that curls upward, while the bowl urges forward in a gradual flare. The flanks, then, feature crisp ridglines that flow up the bowl and wrap the rim ̬ the fore dipping downward to balance the aft side's upward curl. It all combines for a floral motif that becomes all the more impressive the more it's admired. I'm especially drawn to the negative space above the transition, as well as tracing the ridgelines with my fingers, seeing where they connect.
