American Estates: Yeti Smooth Bent Dublin (106)

Product Number: 004-009-14866

A bent Dublin from Micah "Yeti" Cryder, this piece offers a smooth flow of curving line along the underside in profile juxtaposed against the more angular treatment at the upper transition for an aspect similar to Jess Chonowitsch's Fish and Sailor shapes. Here it provides a particular "check mark" silhouette. The shank expands significantly as it leaves the transition and rises to the shank end, where it joins the base of the stem made from what appears to be well-grained, lightly-stained hardwood in a domed aspect that softens the shaping and combines with the vulcanite for a stylized treatment. The rim is treated with partial plateau for visual and textural contrast, contributing to a composition with a multitude of elements to satisfy the eye.
