American Estates: Zack Hamric Sandblasted Gourd with Horn
Product Number: 004-009-14920
Immediately following college, Zack Hamric began making pipes, and he has pursued traditional shapes as well as the whimsical with a dedication to detail and the finest materials available. Here we find an interpretation of the Gourd shape, a heel-heavy form with a low waistline and tapering flanks that contract subtly as they rise to the rim, which in this case is smooth and roundly beveled. The shank is almost entirely comprised of horn, expanding to a dramatic flare at its end, where a softly downturned tapered stem with a single expansion ring balances the composition and foretells comfortable hands-free smoking.- Chuck Stanion
