American Estates: Grant Batson Sandblasted Bent Billiard (2018)
Product Number: 004-009-14947
American artisan Grant Batson has been woodworking since the age of 15, having worked at a custom cabinet and furniture shop before starting his own acoustic guitar company with his brother. Eventually, though, Grant's passions swung to pipes, handing the guitar company fully to his brother and focusing full time on briar, studying under both Todd Johnson and Teddy Knudsen. Here, Grant presents a gestural, lithely bent Billiard design, featuring a tall, Egg-like bowl up front. It's all dressed in a crisp, well-textured sandblast, its warm stain complementing the hardwood accent along the shank-end as well as the semi-translucent acrylic stem.-Truett Smith
