American Estates: Yeti Smooth Dublin (76)
Product Number: 004-009-15614
Micah Cryder of Yeti Pipes doesn't produce many straight renditions, making this Dublin quite a rare and welcomed sight. While his portfolio isn't completely saturated with fully bent or even 1/4 bent pipes, the American artisan does often feature at least a slight bend through the shank and stem of his pieces. This Dublin, though, is arrow straight from heel to bit, lent a sense of forward momentum by the bowl's cant which coincides beautifully with the flame grain with which it's adorned while the shank-and-stem combination is Lovat-like in its execution. Perched on the end of an elongated shank, the bowl flares gradually toward a rim that's kissed with patches of plateau. Stamped "76," this piece is an early example of Cryder's work but showcases the remarkable talents of a gifted artisan pipe maker.-Truett Smith
