American Estates: J.L. Thompson Sandblasted Bent Apple (1606)
Product Number: 004-009-15929
Based out of Parkville, Maryland, J.L. Thompson has been carving pipes part time since 2013 and began crafting them after years of experience making small wooden gifts for his family and friends. This offering is a lively yet compact take on the bent Apple that's a delight to wrap your fingers around. That is partly due to the piece's sandblast that ably highlights the briar's captivating grain patterns, with the plump bowl offering plenty of stimulating texture to enjoy in hand. The composition's traditional color palette is interrupted by a pale accent of hardwood, its contrast of color and texture injecting the piece with plenty of energy.
