American Estates: J. Alan Sandblasted Pot (038) (2005)

Product Number: 004-009-15965

Fashioned by Jeff Gracik in 2005, this J. Alan Pot is an earlier piece from the American carver, and Gracik's Danish-style leanings are still quite evident. The shape is still stout and muscular, but the lines are softer — noticeable in the bowl's slight taper and the subtly rounded rim. Furthermore, the rim has been finished smooth, an oft-seen Danish design cue, contrasting against the stummel's dark sandblast. It's a compact pipe, designed for lightweight comfort and workhorse reliability, and the stem base bears an accent of dark hardwood.
