American Estates: Chheda Partially Sandblasted Diamond Shank Dublin with Box Elder (323)
Product Number: 004-009-16347
This Diamond Shank Dublin from Chheda is trim of line and proportions. It comes off sharp and aerodynamic — seemingly cutting through the air when held at a distance. Much of that, no doubt, has to do with the clean, minimalist lines of the lengthy shank itself, which is shaped into a Bulldog-like diamond arrangement, but Premal and Jesse have worked in some subtler details as well. The underside of the diamond shank, for example, extends past the transition, culminating at an almost Ilsted-like spurred heel. The strong taper of the bowl and the visual contrast of the trim saddle stem play their part as well — resulting in a composition that just screams speed. This piece wears a beautiful golden finish with high contrast as well, highlighting a gorgeous straight and flame grain pattern around the bowl — in turn contrasted by the darker chestnut sandblast of the underside.- Andrew Wike
